Return to Full Time Education

Sent to the Board of Education via email on March 21

Dear President Villescaz and Board Members, As you likely know the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the California Department of Public Health have both adopted new COVID-19 Safety Protocols that facilitate a return to full time in-person learning. Based on these new safety protocols it is my sincerest hope that Superintendent Kern will present a plan for a return to full time in-person learning during his report at the March 23 school board meeting. If the Superintendent does not present such a plan, I respectfully request the School Board call an emergency meeting at the earliest possible date to develop a plan and take immediate action. There is no greater issue facing our children than the challenges of distance learning and it must be addressed as quickly as possible. Thank you in advance for taking prompt action on this matter. Sincerely, Ben Avey
